The philosophy behind our racing and performance camps is simple: If you have passion and drive, and are willing to put in the work, we can help achieve your goal. From Olympic hopefuls to young racers, families and adults who share a passion for the sport, our approach is completely personalized and adapted to individual needs and skill levels. Our mission is to provide you with the tools, tips and in depth training to make your mark in the sport you love. We’ve all been there. We’re former competitive athletes, race champions and have coached some of the top skiers in the world, many of whom winning medals at international championships including The Olympics, The World Cup, and Europa Cup.

Michel Pratte

Michel Pratte put on his first pair of race skis when he was only three years old. By the age of ten, he was attending his first race ski camp. He joined the Quebec ski team and later raced for the Canadian ski team for five years. He went on to race in the European Cup and the World Cup and in 1984, began coaching the Canadian National Alpine ski team. He then moved on to coach the Women’s World Cup Canadian ski team. 

Michel is passionate about his work: “Once I’m on the slopes working with the people, I’m in my element. It’s the best part of the job.”

Fred Pigeon

Fred spends his winters as the head coach at Val St. Come's racing club in Quebec, where he is responsible for all aspects of the racing program. He takes a positive, growth-oriented approach with all his athletes, ensuring they develop the confidence they need to realize their full potential. With PratteSki, Fred has been our head coach for several years, overseeing our team on snow and developing training plans in collaboration with the rest of our team.

Fred holds Performance Level Coach accreditation from Alpine Canada, as well as a Level 3 Instructor certification from the CSIA.

 

Ken Doraty

Ken is currently the U14 head coach for the Nakiska Alpine Ski Association and previously held head coach positions with the Cypress Ski Club and the Whistler Mountain Ski Club. Additionally, Ken spent several years as ski technician, mastering the craft of keeping skis fast and teaching others to do so. On snow he brings all of his program development experience and strategic vision into action, guiding athletes to meet their goals while ensuring a safe and productive environment is maintained.

Ken holds Performance Level Coach accreditation from Alpine Canada, as well as a Level 4 Instructor certification from the CSIA.

Matt Kerr

Matt is a world class coach, having worked with our Canadian National Ski Team for 6 years: 2 years with the Men’s Nor Am/EC Tech team and then for the past 4 years with the Women’s World Cup Tech Team. His experience and training (he has the top level ranking of Level 4 with both the Canadian Ski Instructors Association and the Coaches Federation) along with his skill level and analytical expertise make him an incredible coach and leader in the industry.
